Can anyone please tell me where I can get a replacement key and plip for my 2002 S2000, my local Honda dealer tells me they're no longer available. Thanks

Try another dealer for a new key.

 

My local dealer quoted me £250 for the key and £80 for the fob last week.

 

Christ, what is the key made of to cost that, I'd be looking for a auto locksmith to get a price.

 

Timpsons will get you a key. But it needs to be a larger store, and you have to take id and your v5 to prove you're the owner. Costs about £70.

 

£70 for a key, i thought it would be a lot more than that considering that it will need programmed inside and an actual key?

 

Yeah, but i found this to be the case on my previous cars too though. BMW, VW, Nissan. You can always get it half the price from somewhere like timpsons. They do need your car and existing key to do it obviously, which is why it needs to be a large store (with parking).

Dealers just make a song and dance about it, and charge the earth. And we all know Honda are particularly good at that!
