Default Replacement Tyres

My 04 S2000 needs some new boots, and while I am normally very conservative and stay with OEM recommended tyres. The wet grip of the Bridgestone RE050s is rubbish, and I have been reading online about the Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 - 245/40 R17 W (91)

Can any one who has made this shift advise me of whether it is worth making the move?
How do they compare to the RE050s in regards to:

Wet weather performance
Dry weather performance
Wear

I would be ever so grateful for some advice!

Many thanks

Kim

iagree:
Toyo T1R are cheaper and offer much better grip in both dry and wet conditions.

Buy my brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 3's, they are better than any tyre named here so far.

I've never been a fan of bridgestones, but I have to say the RE50's do suit the car. If you're looking to replace your tyrEs, I assume it's because they're worn. But as you describe, when on their last legs they are better suited to dry days where they stay immense to the end which was less than 6K miles for me

As has been pointed out by others on here, Tyres are subjective and your preference is really down to your driving style and experience.

I've only ever had good experiences from michelins, but that was on FWD cars. Buy, try, decide is probably best. Worst case scenario, if you don't like something then throw them in the for sale section and drop a few quid in exchange for experience.

contisports are a better rated tyre according to tyrereviews.co.uk but to be honest theres not a lot in it.

the MPS3 is an awesome tyre and well worth the purchase at the price you have them.

i would have had them off you if they had been bigger; but they won't fit my new wheels that i get tomorrow.
