Default Replacing the carpet

I'm still looking for a new S, 06 or 07 Moonrock or Silverstone. I'm after an all black interior, but all the best ones out there seem to be black/red. I can live with the black/red seats and doors, but not the red carpet.

Has anyone any experience of removing and refitting the carpet? Not "too" difficult, I imagine, more time consuming than anything. Expensive?

I have red carpet in mine, so I bought some black mats, which works well.

It's easy, you just have to be methodical.

Check eBay for used prices.

Have to agree with loftust, removing the carpet is easy enough. The beauty with the S is that it's two separate pieces so you can could one side at a time. I would do the passenger side first. Make sure you lay everything out on the ground in place when you remove it, to help keep track of where everything goes

I replaced my drivers side recently. Was fairly straight forward. A couple of the clips broke but I re-used them in areas that dont show. Sussed out it was easier using a small claw hammer to lift them out and that worked perfectly once I did that. I has a small issue with a bit or rear trim behind the seat that was stapled to the carpet edge but I had a staple gun and was able to re-do this no problem. I think it took me 40 mins start to finish. As someone said earlier though, getting black mats (Muz for example) would cover most of the carpet anyway.
