Does changing the final drive make much difference?

I find that at motorway speeds, the revs are already pretty high. (3900 @ 70 if memory serves) With a lower ratio final drive, surely this would be even higher?

Replacing the diff should take no more than an hour but it is common for the bolts that connect the drive shaft to the diff to snap. I think 2 were snapped when my diff was replaced. I think I still have a spare bolt at home.

Steven's right, the prop shaft bolts can be a PITA but you gradually learn the technique. I vaguely recall a price of about

Yes! it does make a difference but not something I would do on a car that did a lot of motorway miles.

That was what I thought and it was the reason I bought my old diff back off Chris.

After driving the car for a bit I decided that I am sticking with the 4.625 final drive

Depending on my bonus the sale of the Diff might be helping fund the project

It would be a shame to part with the very rare 4.625 drive though !!!!

Call back from Honda today to say the warranty people have to send out an inspector so they have to strip down the diff for him to see - this would take at least 3 hours at a min cost of
