Default Is this the right time to sell?

Hi all,

I have been considering selling my S due to the time of year and the mileage it is carrying. It is an MY'00 with 86k miles on the clock. At the moment i am using it as my daily driver which was not the case when i originally bought it. I am concerned that the closer the mileage gets to 100k the faster the car depreciates.

I do not need to sell it untill maybe December as i am thinking of going travelling but i would just be interested to know what other people think? If i decide to keep it untill December i will probably put another 8k miles on it. Do you thiunk this would affect the sale value by much?

Apologies if i am being a bit long winded but any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Al.

p.s i paid €17k for it 1.5 yrs ago and would be looking to recoup 10-12k.

I think you'll struggle to get 10-12k euros which is £9k to £11k.

Similar cars have been sold for around £6k.

I doubt another 8k miles won’t make a huge difference to a buyer. It’s still be an ‘average milage’ 10 year old car.

For your re-sale value. £6-7k is the norm here for an 00.
Maybe that will go up a bit if it’s got a hardtop or a new roof or is a particular nice looking example.
I guess local scarcity could effect the price a bit too.

Yes but if i was to buy a car in England for £6-7k it would be €7-8k, add on VRT of €4k and you are looking at €11-12k. Add in flights, accomodation etc and it is cheaper to just buy one over here. The S2000 is one of the only cars that is about the same price if not cheaper to buy over here than in the UK.

It has had a few mods done to it which is why i paid €17k for it when you could have gotten one over here at the time for €15k. There is a hardtop, KEI racing alloys, Invidia exhaust, rear lip spoiler, K&N induction kit and paintwork is in great nick. There are not many in the area i live, ive only ever seen about two or three of them in the last year and a half.

This is why im looking at 10-12 but am wondering if this will fall to 8-10 if i wait untill Christmas and have 94k miles on it and will be a year older? I would rather sell now if i thought it would cost me 2k to keep it untill Christmas.....

Well, no-one can safely say what it'll be worth in a year's time, if there's a miraculous recovery in your local economy, it may increase, but if thing continue as they are, then it won't

I'm closing this now as the questions have been answered and to avoid any suspicions of a sneaky Guest "For Sale" thread.

As you're aware, if you do wish to advertise it here, you need to be a paying member.
