thought i had a the handling down after 4 months of driving around and playing with the tail in the wet, what i wasn't expecting was the tail coming round when i was vtecing in 4th round a slight bend and clipped a cats eye unsettling the rear. Large tail slide resulted in this.

can just make out the corner in the background where it went wrong and the post half way allong that's just hanging from the wires.

that's where it ended up wiht the police man closing the road to repair the power lines and get the car out of the way and weep up all the remains. Doesn't look too bad from that side but look at the driver side.

chassis is bent in the middle and twisted on the driver's side, waiting on the engineer to confirm if it's a write off.

take care out there people, fantastically strong car though even thoug it cut through a 12" electricity pole I didn't even have a bruise or a scrape.

Bad luck, but vtec'ing in 4th round a bend in the wet (sorry 2nd) sounds pretty quick for those conditions..... although not having my own s yet i may be talking out of my behind ...

it was dry though, quiet road and sighted corner, didn't even think i was pushing it at the time. Half worn tyres (about 6K mostly motorway miles) though the pressure might be a bit low as i haddn't checked them for a month or so and it was a cool day.

Glad you're okay Crusoe, as a consolation, I reckon you're about to top the list.

I think if they wanted to they could work out what speed you were doing from the damage and the distance away from the point of impact.

Colin will be pleased when he sees those pictures. I don't think he's seen any twisted metal for a while.

Glad you're ok though dude and I bet yah pants needed a clean after that! Hope it all gets sorted out smoothly with the insurance.

Bloody hell, glad your ok! Doesn't look very wet, but the road has probably got that just rained greasy glaze on it?

You are very lucky, could have been a lot worse with all those tree's about. I am always very wary of white lines, especially nr motorways, and of the tram tracks in Nottingham, they are lethal when wet.

Keep your fingers crossed that its a write off, especially if it has damage to the inner shell. The inner shell costs a fortune to replace, so if it is damaged I am sure it will be a write off. Although my car did not have any shell damage, it did still have
