Default Roof folding problem

Got a bit of an issue with my roof at the moment and can't really figure out why it is happening. When I open it, 7/10 times it does to retract fully stopping short by about 12 inches. At my last service the mechanic identified that it was the glass screen. For some reason the glass screen did not lay as it should and stopped the roof. He fiddled with the roof as it was closing and all was fine. They left it down all day and tried again later and it was still fine.

But, I go to lower the roof the next morning and guess what happens? Yes your right, it gets stuck again. This time, though I raise and lower again watching the glass, and it is sticking for some reason, stopping the roof from lowering any further. The I lowered it and pushed the glass as it came down and its fine. Obviously this is really annoying as it happens so often.

Has anyone had a similar problem, or know a fix etc. Went back to Honda today and they are going to contact Honda UK etc and see what they can do, but it is weird, but very frustrating.

My roof's really annoying me at the moment. Every time I put the roof down I keep getting wet. And not just lying water falling while the roof's retracting. Water seems to be covering me once it's down too!

Anyone got any idea's what's causing this?

Leave the roof up if it's raining

I have exact same problem, I can only imagine its something to do with the colder weather??? roof has been fine prior to this, but hadnt been down for a while due to weather, dropped it on Sunday, and it sat quite high, raised and lowered it about 5 times and it went slightly lower, but still not right.

Is your roof damp at all when you're trying it?

Sideshow is correct in the assumption. This problem affects the roof when it is cold. There are two solutions that I know of. Let the roof warm up or retract it all the way then raise it a few inches and retract it again. The second method is not foolproof but it will help.

No, its dry. The cold does affect your roof and it won't close fully if the roof is very cold, but my roof issue is being caused by my rear screen.

I think they might be related though. If the roof material is stiff and not folding properly it would seem that the screen is in the way, and you would be right but it is because the fabric didn't fold properly. Could be wrong about this but without seeing it in person that would be my bet. One way to know for sure is to try the following: let your roof warm up in the sund or with the heater on inside the car then open it, if it does this without problems you will know the cause.

Mine does the same thing - use the heater with the roof up for a while, get some heat into the roof.
Rahul is right, it is the glass but it's because the cold roof won't fold properly - mine's always done it but putting the heater on full for 10 mins usually sorts it.
