Default Rotrex failure

Anyone know any rebuild options for the rotrex unit. I know that rotrex don't repair and the only place I've found via Google is in Texas.
My charger was sounding noisey although still boosting well. Took it off today and worse fears realised as it's difficult to turn and feels rough so suspect bearings have gone inside it. However there's no play on the shaft at all so it must still be in early stage failure.

Really gutted as it's only been running for 400 miles tops since fitting (kit was second hand done approx 5000miles In total). I've replaced all the pulleys bearings ect, the known week points before fitting to try and get it as reliable as possible, so really surprised the charger as failed as they have a really good reliability record.

Can't decide what to do with it. Haven't really got the funds to buy a brand new charger myself at the moment.

I go to Florida in 6 wks but not sure how practical taking the charger in the case, posting to Texas and getting back would be in 2 Wks

Nightmare! Gutted for you.

Had the kit done many miles prior to you buying it?

5k I was told. No play on it and still isn't to be fair. Noise started last week. Driven it 20 miles since and was getting louder but it's still boosting. Took it off this morn to check what was causing and worse case scenario. Just got fuel pump left to change and it's back to standard tommorow. 3hrs to completely remove not bad going

Can't you rebuild it yourself? You're handy with spanner arn't you?

I'd crack it open, what you got to lose....

I rebuilt my Paxton unit FYI

Thought about it but rotrex themselves don't rebuild the units, although I suspect that's in their interest as to people needing to buy a new unit. The place in Texas supplies parts so I may well take it apart even if it's just out of interest

Sounds like it was either run without oil or someone hadn't primed it at first use. I would just take it apart and if it is the bearing you'll be able to source it online.
