Default Is this rust anything to worry about?

There's a 2004 model I am interested in purchasing however it has some corrosion in places. Is any of this quite serious? Apart from this the car looks solid. Thanks for any opinions.

Attached some pics below.

Back end is pretty rusty - hole in the chassis leg?

That seam sealant on the front inners is messy - sloppy accident repair, probably. Hence the rust...

Both side have this 'hole' in the back end.

All perfectly normal for a 13yr old car that hasn't being owned by a true enthusiast and nothing that a few hours elbow grease can't sort out , you should be looking at the lower part of the rear sills and the rear of the wheel arches the two holes in the chassis are normal and meant to be there
, but i'd also want to know why the wiring has being messed with and taped up and clad in wire tidy on the n/s

You'll find rust in some form on most S2000 it's an old motor now and most will have some problem or another it's how much work your prepared to put in to make it as good as want, if your looking for a perfect one you'll have a long journey and have to dig a lot deeper than this one is priced at,

It has what appears to be a pre-facelift exhaust with circular (rather than oval) tips..?

I think in isolation, the rust shouldn't be a firm barrier to purchase for a car of this age.

Also, is that Oil filter OEM? If not I'd prefer it to be if I was going to drive it hard.

That does look pretty rusty underneath, is that typical for a 2004 car?

i guess it has been kept outside rather than in a garage.

Also to add, with that much rust underneath did you take a good close look at the arches?

My 2004 has no rust at all in any of those places so it definately isn't 'normal'. The sealant on the inside of the arch is exactly the same on mine though, pretty sure its normal.
