Rust on the arch
Noticed some rust on the rear driver arch, otherside and the rest of the car is grand.
Question IIRC theres 2 ways of sorting rust out?
A) Cutting it out and inserting a plate, then smoothing off and repainting - costly though?
B) Rubbing away the rust the filling in, surely if you treat with anti rust and prevention stuff then fill and paint over, this would be fine?
Funny thing rust though
Quite shocked at noticing rust to be honest.

maybe it's the result of poor repair over a ding??
i'd get it checked at Honda - what's the paint warranty?
in terms of repair i'd be inclined to agree in theory but in practice i've always seen it return

The rubber strips that are fitted from the factory are the main cause of rust on the arches, they hold water and salt against the metal for long periods causing it to rust. I find sticking some waxoyl in the rubber strip and inside the arch helps.
This is prevention but sounds like you need a cure.

The cars never had a repair or ding. I have owned the car for 2 years, im not the first owner, i cant recall the rust being present when i bought the car, must of developed over time.
Ive no idea of the paint warranty? anyone??
The danger is if i leave it, it may grow bigger :s

I'm pretty sure you've had this rust spot for a while now. I recall when you first posted pics of your car (over a year ago) noticing it then and you had said you were going to get it looked at...
I'll try to find the thread

No surprise there then!
Most people forget to clear the mud off the inside of the wheelarch, so rust is inevitable.
It's the first plase all Hondas go, as a result.
The plastic strip keeps the seam between the inner arch & the wing protected; it's there for a reason.
