Default S feeling slower

My S has started to feel slower of late. The acceleration from 1st to 3rd doesn't feel as quick anymore. When I first got it, giving it the shoe from a standing start scared the begesus outta me but now it doesn't have that same effect. Just doesn't have that punch it once had.

I only put v-power or the 99 stuff from Tesco in it. Is there anything I should check, dirty air filter maybe, or is this just a case of getting used to the car?

In my experience when you go over to an 'S' especially from a slower saloon or in my case a 4WD you put your foot down and WWWWOOOOOOHHHHH !

For the first few months. But then over a period of time your flooring it thinking "COME ONNN" or at least I do anyway.

Then all I do is lower the roof and throw it into a few twisties and I'm hooked again

You're maybe just getting used to it.

It's your imagination because you're used to it.

Go and drive an "ordinary" car for a couple of days, then come back the S and even 4th gear low revs will feel fast.

Warmer weather also slightly decreases the car's get up and go.

Good point. One time I couldn't figure out why I was slowing down even with my foot on the accelerator, thought I'd knackered the car but then I noticed a little red light on the dash board. Oops, I hadn't fully realeased the brake

May also be worth giving the map a whack. On my old car it had started playing up a bit and the car was significantly slower in VTEC.
