In Japan leather seats are not so popular in cars - so for S2000 it's actually a 600quid optional extra.

The alternative is kind of a half leather effect - seems about 50/50 between the cars fitted with leather and ones without from my market survey - silver attracts the red leather. The other colours are often without. This half effect is the one I have and is very practical in summer when it's stinking hot and humid.

I was also trying to avoid UK spec as much as possible (body colour only JDM) to put off potential grey marketers from relieving me of my hard earned property. Car crime is low in Japan - but S2000 are pretty prized items for export and easy to nick as no alarm or immob system is fitted. With the recent devaluation of the yen - expect some more greys to appear in the UK.

As for Metallic Green??? don't think so - that's an aftermarket job.

You mean you haven't seen the mad colours and combinations the Japanese get Steve??

There are some beauties like the Midnight blue, Monza Red and Paltinum white pearls and some howlers like the metallic lime green You can match any colour hood and leather too e.g. green with blue hood and red seats and dash - very tasty

JDM Colour combos'

tif,

the new colours and hoods are for very recent model cars 2002 - the one advertised is 99 - hence a second paint job

lol, sorry mate - I should know better than to doubt the man on the ground

Still some interesting combo's to be had though.... I'd give a lot for your midnight blue car for example or a platinum white one with black/red and black hood ideally with the sat-nav screen.....

Tif - yes you are right - there is a lot of really good stuff in Japan - 100million avid consumers to feed,

My favourite is the electronics market. Unfortunately it's all for the domestic market so very difficult to use. The satnav - it's great in the S2000, but it's all in Japanese! even the TV shows - I don't know how James manages it.

At the moment you can get handheld portable satnav which you just plug into the lighter socket for charging power, pretty cheap at about 350quid and you can switch from car to car, even use while walking - however only CD version at the moment so no DVD movies. Once these become DVD - this will be a very popular device.

Just got a very nice new Canon laser printer for

Well only slightly off topic... I read somewhere recently that when 'Sony' first launched on the market way back, they originally intended to be 'Sonny' but their spelling mistake was only pointed out long after they were well committed to the brand name. Makes you wonder if Sony gear would have quite the same charisma if it was called 'Sonny' though.
