S2000 CR
All the articles on the CR mention a steering box stiffner/brace, does anybody have any details on this? I believe it picks up on the front and rear locating bolts but I cant find out how or where it fastens to the chassis
It will be interesting when someone on the forum gets a look at the mods on the CR and can see if they are transferable. With a bit of luck Hardtopguy will make the parts available.

The CR's spring rates are up 38 percent up front and 17 percent out back, compared to the standard '08 S2000 (which in turn has a slightly stiffer suspension overall than the previous year's car). Honda seriously tamps down body motions by increasing the monotube shocks' damping rates by 50 percent front and 32 percent rear compared, again, to the standard '08 S2000. The CR's tubular antiroll bars are of a larger diameter front and rear, although the wall thickness of the front bar is 19 percent thinner
For 2008, both S2000 models have benefited from suspension updates. First off,the base 2008 S2000 runs stiffer springs and dampers than the '07 model, to the tune of +7%/+9% (F/R) for the springs and +10%/+5% (F/R) for the dampers. For the CR, the suspension spring and damper rates compare to the '07 model as follows - +47%/+27% (F/R) for the springs and +65%/+39% (F/R) for the dampers. Honda's engineers determined that the increase in the CR's spring and damping rates called for a rear body brace in order for the stiffer suspension components to operate with more precision.

I would be seriously interested in what the exact things they've done are.

Also don't forget one thing about the CR suspension updates, the new 08 wheels are forged so a little lighter than the cast 04+ ones

Presumably the stiffer springs and ARBs are still softer than the "classic" MY99?
One. thing I noticed is they installed rear cross bracing in the space normaly taken up by the soft top, its interesting that a lot of work goes into stiffening the rear but no X brace or mods to the front
makes me wonder if the rear is 1st priority for stiffening brace before the front X brace that seems to be the usual first step.
