Paul, my car is over 3 yrs old and has lived outside all its life - I use a car cover when car condition (clean) and weather (not too windy) permit, and the roof is just fine.

Do you live in Scotland or what? Paul, don't buy the hard top. I live in one of the wettest parts of the UK, drive the car daily and my hardtop has been on a total of 2 months in the past 19. Forget it. Save your money and have a holiday instead.

Quite possibly!

As for the hood standing up to foul weather - it really does - whilst car covers are a good idea, the practicalities of using one on a daily driver through our shitty winters mean it is rarely on the car.

My car has sat (and been driven) through some dreadful weather - wind, snow, rain, hail....often covered in road salt and other hideous winter grime.

However a little tlc and everything looks fine again - hood included - once every 6 weeks or so it gets a seeing-too with Porsche shampoo / 303 and it still looks just tickity-boo after 3 yrs. and 2 months!
