Default S2000 Headlamp

Has anyone had a headlamp go on them ??

This is not an accident damage - just a blown headlamp bulb I think !

Is it a simple bulb change or do you have to go to the dealer & is it covered under warranty ??

Any ideas as to the cost it ??

Thanks
Bharat

If it's the HID don't touch it - huge voltage always on!!

oh dear.....if it is a blown bulb then you had better sit down...it's going to cost you about 100 notes for the bulb, and you should get the dealer to fit it!

sorry to ruin your weekend....

It is the HID - not the full beam.

Sorry, but IIRC that is the approx price..gas discharge bulbs are well expensive..the dealer needs to fit them due to the potentially fatal voltages invlved with the circuits that power them...

they are supposed to last a while, so you could try a warranty claim...

It is possible the power pack (or ballast) that powers it may have failed, this would be a warratny claim...

One of mine went and when the dealer saw how much they were he swapped them and discovered it was a loose connection. To quote from Arkwright get them to j j j jiggle it a bit before they replace.

I would take it to the dealer and request it to be carried out under warranty. There is more to the HID system than the bulb. It could be the inverter or ignitor instead of the bulb. Have you checked the fuse? There is one for each side, they feed the corresponding high beam as well as the HID, so should be easy to check.
