Thumbs up S2000 or S2000? - Indecision!

Hello.

Firstly I would like to say I have read a lot of the links and threads on this site and have found all the information to be invaluable in helping me search for my next car.

I am hoping to purchase a second S2000 soon. I have found two that especially caught my eye,

a) From Honda Dealer:

If you have a garage and can keep the S in it I would go for A and get the dealer to come down in price also get some warranty from them.
A GT top can be fitted to a roadster but its not cheep

Option B. do you have a place to store the hard top in the summer!

if the car will be a daily driver and you have a place to store the hardtop then a GT is a good option.

Otherwise the hood is pretty good and if you can garage the car then it should be fine.

Are there no cars on here in the for sale forum which grab your fancy - are you looking for any particular colour ?

(I know of a red one which has been meticously maintened with a hardtop & 68k mileage for less than option B )

Private with a full inspection would be my choice. Keep the money you've saved aside in case something goes wrong...

Mines on a Y plate, that one is high mileage! I have no hard top and have had no problems so far no leaks, its fine in the winter, infact i was driving around over christmas with the roof down, something that is not so easy if you fit a hard top for the winter. The roofs are made of plastic so they are very hard wearing.

I too would go for private, (get an inspection for peace of mind) you get much more for your money, theres been some great deals on here recently and you can generate most of them have been looked after.

Back to the Q a choice between the two, the V reg from the dealer but knock him down a bit!

Both seem way overpriced. You can get a much newer car for a only a little more on the forum for sale list.
