Default The S2000 on the strip

I know its probably not done that often by S2000 owners, but was wondering if anyone had indulged?

Purely for compartive purposes (I have just sold my astra VXR) I was wondering what times the S was capable of....

recently borrowed my mates racelogic. after a few attempts the best figures i acheived were;

0-60 6.1 seconds

0-100 14.1 seconds

this compared to my mates 350z which was 0-60 5.8 and 0-100 14.0

the zee was slightly quicker to 60 but the s had a better 60-100 time.

Did it once at santa pod- 15.3 but that was probably down to the driver, it quite hard to get a good start.

Thanks all - I would expect a low 14 tbh, with a terminal speed of high ninety...

Hypersonik - is that your figure, or guestimate?

I wouldnt say a low 14 is crap! :-)

But I agree, straight line speed is only 10% of the fun....

I've always wondered (but i live so far from santa pod) but I definelty think my car possible of doing around 13.3-13.5.

Some of the best drives have had high 13's with minor mods. One guy just had a single pipe exhaust.

It's what it is.

Personally, I wouldn't be up for killing my clutch doing drag runs, but I suppose i'd do it once to find out.

Just bought some new seats that should save me at least 20kg.

All i'd need to do is remove the Con Air and i'd be down to sub 1200kg!

Most performance honda's do pretty well on the strip with a good driver. My old ITR managed low 14's.

I think a lightly modded S2k could achieve a 13 second quarter - which is good even by todays standard!
