Default S2000 Tested as submarine

Well Due to the flooding is sheff i found myself with a little standing water, having seen a land rover go through and thinkin to myself, thats not too Deep I venture through and find that the water starts crowning the bonnet! Anyway nothing seems to be a problem I was driving for a good few hours after that with a couple more "river Crossings" thrown in.....

Anyway is there anything I should be Checking/Doing this morning????

Definitely check to make sure the car hasn't developed gills

Leeds was quite bad, but luckily the water wasn't too high where i was.

You can thank your lucky stars that if the water was high enough to crown the bonnet that you didn't injest water into the engine and hydraulic lock it. If water was crowning the bonnet, then your air intake was below that level........

Just glad i have the normal airbox think I would have been in trouble otherwise, the intake is quite protected on the standard setup, dont want it swallowing water

My first thought if the water was coming over the bonnet is, make sure that any crap in the water hasn't settled between the radiator fins and blocked them up.

Just bought my car from Sheffield a week ago, looks like I got out in time.

I think I'd want to go squirt some WD40 at any electrical connectors.

Thanks Guys for your input.

Think the water was just breaking the bonnet through the fact that i was pushing through the water, allthough it was way too high for comfort. Was nice to see your local freindly copper diverting traffic comming from the other direction when I got up the other side of the hill saying "its like 3Ft deep plus" And when there people were replying pointing at me asking how did them cars get up there me sat grinning thinking how lucky am I !

yep. check your airbox - is your filter wet? Crazy.. not like you HAD to drive through it... could have (and might still) cost you thousands..

How do you work that out? It really wouldnt take much to fill it with water if your bonnet was under.
