Default Sad news :(

After 7 or something years and 101k miles, something has finally broken and needs replacing. Having spend Saturday arguing with sticky rear calipers, I've finally had to admit defeat and bought a pair of refurbished ones.

I won't miss the 20 minutes a side / snapped metal files / skinned knuckles and swearing each time i come to strip and clean them

Only thing left to do after that is to get the wheels refurbished, the last ( fairly recent ) caliper overheat really didn't do the already lightly flaking rears any favours.

White or Bronze are the current favourites.

How did you snap metal files? They must really have been fighting you.

There's a gorgeous bronze that fiat made. Fiat 750F Marrone Volciano.

Sick of black - that has been done to death, fancy something a bit lighter and brighter. Bronze lends itself to dirty, equally, back to an OEM type silver might be on the cards too.

As the car is leaning towards rare in standard form, i think a return back to OEM might well be the way forward.

£155 quid for 2 fully rebuilt calipers and no need to do an exchange.

That means i can flog my 'working' ones as well as the other 2 pairs of fronts i have plus carriers and all the other associated crap.

Not a job i envisage doing again in my ownership

That's pretty good value. Where from? I've refurbished mine before, but not worth the hassle for that little cash.
