Not worth buying it back yourself? The insurance say £5500 but I bet it would be a lot less if you had the contacts to do the work. Just an idea!

Source parts from a breakers - I bet any money that can be repaired for a lot less. If the subframe is only mildly damaged (it's an expensive part from Honda) they can be straightened. Insurance assessors go completely over the top and tend to talk about replacing everything "just to be on the safe side".

Offer to buy it for a grand and then get it fixed up as a track car

Big hug Rich!

Mine is still not fixed after someone reversed into it (and admitted liability). This is upsetting me enough, I can't imagine how it feels for you.

But also, glad to know that you are ok now. If you have had whiplash be very careful with your neck from now on. You may find that from now on you can be ok for weeks, even months and then it flares up again.

Good luck for the après-S2000

Oh Rich! Such a shame, hope you decide to get another S2000! I remember talking to you at JAE 2005 - you'd be missed if you decide to go elsewhere! Don't do it Rich!!!!

Just wanted to give a big to chris knott/highways insurance three weeks to the day of my accident i have received a cheque for the total loss.

I'm impressed with the service i got and how easy the whole thing was as i've never had to do this before.

Still a sad way to finish all my hard work ending with a cheque in my hand.

Off car shopping now .

Thanks to everyone on here to .

Good to hear your all sorted cash wise from the insurance, the same combo have cover my car, repairs done, now hopefully they can get my excess back from the other parties company.
Four months will give you loads of time to source another car, whatever it may be.

Bugger, I didn't realise this had happened, Rich!

You seem to be taking it well, no injuries and a cheque in your hand, so I guess all good in the end?
