Well the Scooby has gone, the cash is in my account and I am now driving the following....

Looks like I'll have to keep it for 4-6 weeks, whilst I get some debts paid off and save a bit more deposit cash. The only thing left to do is to convince myself that borrowing 15k for a car is a good idea But assuming I do that, I should be in an S by the middle of September.

Now all I need to do is test drive some other stuff whilst I have the chance. List of test candidates so far.
P1 (one at my local dealers)
STi
Evo6
CTR
S2000 again just to make sure I'm making the right decision.
Lotus Elise

Anyone got any further ideas for cars to test c

Why not test a RX-8 ? They're due to hit the UK soon I believe.

Anyone know when the RX-8 is due? I see the mags are reviewing them now. Apparently the cheaper 200hp has more torque than the 240hp car I would be quite interested in driving one of those.

Not an Alfa man, I like to arrive at my destination
Golf32 - I had a mk2 16v and I don't think any golf will beat that. If I wnat another awd it will be a Scoob I think
Focus - couldn't spend 20k on a Ford, the missus would kill me
Mini - Girls car - it is up here in the North anyway

You don't think I'm going to drive the Bluebird until October do you

Another question then, if you all faced the same choice again, would you buy another S?

I think the Alfa stereotype is a bit old now - my brother drove a 156 without any mechanical problems.

I don't know about the R32 first-hand, but more than one review of it which I've seen has called it the most capable Golf ever.

I don't disagree about the Mini - I'd just be interested to actually give it a go and see what the Cooper S handles like. I'd have no intention at all of buying one!
