Default scratcched seat problem

hi,

i've only had the car for a week and a half but i've already got a wee problem.

my girlfriend has managed ton scratch/score the right hand support part of the passenger seat with her leather/metal studded belt.

it hasn't actually torn the leather seat but it has scratched/scored a line in it approx 5 cm long - anyone got any top repair tips?

cheers,
billy

Sack the girlfriend

Alternatively you could try some decent leather feed and polish. I managed to disappear a mark in my last car. Took some doing though and I can't remember the name of the stuff.

If you've gone through the colour you have a bigger problem.

If it's just a light surface scape I would also suggest a leather treatment. Most polish manufacturers do one but I always use a product called Hide Food. You can get it from equestrian shops.

However, if the scrape has gone through the colour then the leather treatment can only darken the scratch and may even make it more noticeable. I'd talk to a specialist - some of the dent magician types do repairs to trim.

DIY solution might be the kind of leather 'paint' you can buy for recolouring shoes. Lots of colours available.

I had/have a similar problem caused by a Levi stud on the back of my jeans. That's "stud" as in fastener, not as in "the guy from the advert in the laundrette". The "stud" scraped off the colour and I tried everything. After time, it's dulled down a bit and I've really forgotten about it. Bloody annoying, though.

I just realised that this was of no help whatesoever.
