Default Security

I am thinking of bringing my car up to Dublin (where i live/work Monday to Friday) from now on as i currently leave it at home in the south east of Ireland and only drive it at the weekends.

I have secured underground parking in my apartment in Dublin, however a lot of cars have been broke into down there (and i think some stolen to).

What is the best security to add to the car... i'm thinking of fitting a pager alarm and then just getting a baseball bat :0

What would you recommend

thanks in advance

id probably just go with a cat1 standard alarm as it cant get stolen with a imob and just set the setting on it to high there as you said its in an under ground carpark therefore no one should be going near it

but the pager alarm is sounds like a good idea if there isnt any cameras or men on gaurd of the carpark

I recommend driving a beater in Dublin, or taxis, buses, bike or walking.

Seriously... why would you take your S to a place you know is trouble??

And why not take the landlord/ other homeowners to task about serious security on the parking? CCTV or something...

Erm.... if it is secure and underground... why not speak to the home owners/ landlord about caging in each car. nothing can be stolen that way.

IMHO... you have a problem. CCTV isn't solving it. Imob and alarm will do nothing either.

Best protection is prevention.

BTW - Why not move to a safer area??

Tinted windows are a good extra security measure as they put off the opportunist thief who will break your glass. I've got both my S and my Passat tinted, think the S was

Get a visible steering wheel lock, e.g. crooklock. Some years ago I was chatting to a police officer about car theft and he told me it was the best deterrent he knew of.

I had my motorbike and pushbike stolen recently from my Dublin 9 underground "secure" carpark.

I have a cat1 sigma on my car and a full steering wheel cover/brace, so far the car hasn't been touched.

I'd personally go for the pager and a golf club, love to catch some1 at it...
