Default Seriving Schedule Question

I test drove a 2007 car (oddly no traction control).

It's had 4 services stamped in the book done at Honda, last one was at 36k miles in May 2011, car is now at 39k miles. I believe it's either 1 year or 9000 miles which ever comes soonest, is that correct?

So the next entry in the book is for the 45k mile service. Is this a biggie? Any idea on cost?

Graeme

Correct on the scheduling - there's a service schedule in the FAQ here https://www.s2ki.com/...ost__p__5798519

The 45k is a pretty small one (large ones are every 27k, so your next one at 54k would be a biggie).

Dealer prices should be no more than £200, just call a couple of dealers to get an accurate picture - prices vary too.

Yeh, every year or 9k miles.
45 service isn’t especially painful, read the FAQ guide for precise work.

Price depends on if you to a dearlership or independent. A minor service at Honda cost me £90 with me providing £35 of oil.

The big service is the 54k, and then the 108k. I’ve just had this done and the price is usually around £400+ at a dealership – I got this again for £350 in total as I provided all parts, them just doing the labour.

For the car, I’d say the servicing is hugely reasonable.

Thanks guys, made a typo, car was serviced at 26k miles and now at 29k miles, but yes the next service in the book is 45k, does the above still apply?

It's a very cheap car to run on basic servicing.

The problem is that when parts wear out they can be very expensive.

2008/9k
2009/18k
2010/27k
2011/36k
2012/45k

£200 should see you about right at a main dealer.

SCZ4 - yes, you still want to follow that schedule.

Bassoctopus,

It depends what you're comparing it to. Compare it to a z4 or a boxster and you're laughing. Compare it to a Honda Jazz and it's expensive.

If you're savvy with buying (including buy from overseas), then there's nothing horrendous other than a new engine.

As mentioned, 54k service is the big one.

Thanks guys.

Called my local dealer, £170 for the 45k mile service including a free courtesy car or collection\drop off service. I'm used to BMW's, so the price and service is very refreshing.

Not that strange, it was an option and its reliability is questionable, big bucks if it goes wrong! Better off without it.

Guys I'm confused by the service book. Looking at a car and the guy sent me a picture of the book with the stamps.

Take the bottom right box for example, why does the top half say 36000 miles/48 months, but the bottom part of the same box say 50000 miles/48 months? How do I know which service is recieve. Also, I can't tell which service is due next basically as I don't know whether to read the top or bottom figure to get a price from Honda.
