Default Servicing Issues

Hi,

It's been a while and I feel bad for only contributing because I want something but here goes. I have been having great difficulty getting my S2000 booked in for a first service, Tunbridge Wells Honda are always booked up 3 weeks in advance, and this makes pinning a day down very difficult.

Anyway to cut a long story short, phoned Maidstone who offered to come and collect my car, service it and return, excellent service as I phoned Wednesday and they serviced next day.

Now to the problem: I have had a really annoying creeking noise from the driver window/ door frame, the guarage said they found the noise and lubricated in the hope that it would fix the problem, the trouble is it is blatently there and not even marginally better, does anyone have a clue what it could be?

My second question is how much for a first service, they are posting the invoice, cost

No service garage can guarantee to fix a problem - they can only do their best. If their best isn't good enough then you complain/change service garage. They spent time on the problem so they need paying for their time.

I whole heartly agree that work needs paying for, but I would have expected anyone doing a job properly to check the results of their work. I shall be speaking to them today, I guess I really wanted to know if someone on this board had experienced/rectified a similar problem so I could tell them where to possibly start looking. I also assume that this type of work is covered by warranty?

Thanks,

Nick.

Is the noise a high pitched squeak that drives you

I located such a sound to the door trim which was squeaking when driving. I used a small piece of cut foam and stuck it to the area of the dashboard which comes into contact with the door.

This has firmly braced the dorr trim and no more squeaks.

It is an inelegant soloution (not easily noticed) but I needed a quick fix before driving to Spain.
Its been so effective though that I am loath to let any delaer try and fix it.

Regards

Sound travels, Could the rattle or squeak be coming from the Hood Latches, they can work loose.

Hi,

I am affraid to say not a squeeking noise, I fixed that with some WD40 on the hood joints, no this is quiet clearly a problem with the window, it's loud and creeks like the window in rattling against something. I am fairly convinced it is the window because if I lower the window 1/2" it stops. Trouble is you then get a cold draft.

Nick.
