Default Sidelights

I bought some PIAA sidelights online, a set for the rear plates and a set for up front. To cut a long story short, they never arrived so I set about looking for other sites that sold them.

It then dawned on me that do I really need to be spending £40 on some bulbs?

Does anyone know of any equivalents that are as good as the PIAA, and has anyone had any issues with light spread (or lack of) on the rear plate when using LEDs?!

PM Unclefester...he sourced some for Squeak and myself

Not 100% sure about the numberplate lights...although I've not heard about any problems with the spread for such a small area

I put cheaper ones in for my rear plate. 10000x more accessible and less "critical" if they blow. I put PIAAs up front.

I used motaman.co.uk, nice lady on the other end of the phone even arranged reasonable shipping to Jersey instead of the much higher quoted price online.

They seem to have Tera PIAAs in stock still.

Indeed, I put some pretty powerful white leds in my rear number plate light holders but the plastic covers are so dirty and grubby that they seem to block out most of the light Think i may just cut the plastic bulb covers off tried to clean them but they are just too grubby

why would you want your rear plate to be really bright and well lit?

It's going to be readable without any lightning anyway so what difference does it make?

Might as well look nice and clean.

http://cgi.ebay.com/2x-T10-W5W-1W-High-Pow...=item2eaae34a6a

That's what I use and is what I got for Loftust and Squeak - used them on 3 previous cars and never had a problem with a blown LED yet
