Default Silence.........

A combination of complaints from the neighbors, the thought of driving to the Arran meet next month and the realisation that I would never be able to get the car onto a track forced me to make the difficult decision to go from .....

To this ...

I have swapped my 5Zigen Miracle Fireball (single) for a Mugen AP2 (dual).

I liked the 5Zigen exhaust a *lot*, it has excellent build quality and made a good noise. The Mugen, on the other hand, is the quietest exhaust I have had since I removed my stock exhaust, many years ago.

Both exhausts were designed for AP2 ( > 04) cars but the Mugen is the better fit on the AP1 (< 04).

Did it make any difference to your AFR on WOT ?

Cant beleive your neighbours are that worried about an exhaust, you'd think they'd have something better to do.

No, I checked yesterday and it is ~ 11.2.

The exhaust isn't the only thing they complain about.

I remember last time I came round your neighbours are just grumpy in general they will soon start complaining about your CRV exhaust.

you will probably notice a loss in power as well

but mugens exhausts are top notch

It is no where near as loud as a Spoon. I would say it was slightly louder than an HKS.

It does have a bung but I never wanted to use it

On my single exit I lost 15whp with a bung. Apexi do a bit of kit to baffle the exhaust at low speed and open it at high. It is also used for active aero. Hard to find though.

Are the grumpy neighbors the ones that are currently doing all the building work?
