Default Sleepless night

So last night I was woken up three times in the night by the alarm going off!

The car is kept in the garage under a dust cover unlocked and alarm off!

In the end I disconnected the battery hoping this will at least stop it for now.

Any idea how to fix this please?

Thanks

Did you leave an iPod connected and not in aeroplane mode?

Battery is on it's way out or in need of a good charge.

No, USB stick plugged into the stereo that's all.

Car started prefectly well but will connect the Optimate4 up tonight.

Incidentally, since I've had the car (10 years) I can probably count on two hands the number of times I'm armed the alarm! When in the garage it's never armed and when I take it out I usually park it with the roof down (it's a fair weather car) and I don't use the alarm.

Does it still have the original alarm system? They weren't the most reliable part of the car, and even if your not arming it, they can do some strange things. That said, I would point my finger at the battery. See what condition it's in when you plug the Optimate in.

Yeah, will do.

Will disconecting the battery for a lengthy period cause any issues?

Nope.

Other thing you can check is the fluid levels within the battery - if it isn't a sealed unit. You may find the electrolyte levels have dropped significantly - new battery from honda is about £66

I have an MY02 and I was advised that, from 2002 on, the internal sensors are automatically disconnected when the hood is down! As a result, I always alarm the car when parked with the hood down and have never had a problem.
