Default Slicks

Evening,

Iv got a spare set of oem alloys that im wanting to put some slicks on for track-days next summer, Iv had a search on google etc but cant seem to see any places that could provide me with a decent set of slicks. I would use the search function on here but dosent seem to be working at the minute. Any help appriciated.

PS (off topic). anyone know the correct size for the front whiteline ARB droplinks? I saw a thread a while ago that mentioned the sizes but obviously cant find it right now seeing as the search button has lost its ability to search.

Thanks

Slicks bring with them other issues such as oil starvation.

I'd advise a baffled sump minimum.

Most tracks also require proper roll-over protection if you're using slicks i.e a roll cage. If you don't have one, then slicks are probably best avoided.

The road legal track day tyres are probably a better bet. i.e Toyo R888 or Yokohama AO48.

R888s are fantastic and not only do they grip more, but they offer a much better feel.

They don't last much though, being very soft...

Hmm, I do think that depends on how you use them.

I managed 5000 miles from my rears and that is compareable to T1Rs

I did a drift day in them too!

I think if you don't overheat them then they won't grain.

Although I have seen pics of them with big chunks missing

I can't wait to get another set on mine!

im not too worried about the wear as these wheels will just be used for track days I imagine. I was thinking about some of those A048's a while ago. Anyone used both the R888's and the A048's to compare?

I think Chilled has.

A048s are certainly a lot more expensive than R888s

Get some big rubber up front... then you'll be rocking.
Especially as you may already have a WL ARB front?
Why do you need an adjusible front bar, autosolo or ?

Also definately NO slicks on trackdays with BaT or MsE unless roll cages are fitted.
There are dog bars a/v from US premade that 'will' fit under a HT or ST.

Steve.
