Default small BUT big help needed

Hi, i am traveling to the uk tomorrow to start my look out for an s2000. I have decided not to rush into any but i have to start somewhere so i have booked a flight for tomorrow.

I have read through the "guide to buying an s2000" however i would like to hear what you guys have to say in relation to buying one.

What should i look/listen/smell/feel etc... for when i am examining the car

thanks in advance

I wonder if someone could take you out in a good one before you try your prospective purchases?

have you bought many cars before? if in doubt pay someone from the rac/aa to do an inspection

there is not a lot to look out for really - there are a lot of 'rough' s2000's out there - check out the for sale section here there are a few in there, you will find most people love them - and know a lot about them BUT if you go to someone that doesnt, and the car is in bad condition you will know about it !

Not really no, this is my first, i spoke to someone yesterday about all these aa etc. checks and they said they are fine for a normal standard family cars but the people who tend to do the checks MAY not know so much about a s2000.

Is there anyone here that would be willing to check it for me for a fee

Hi 007,was wondering why are you going to england to buy an s2000??
Is it to save a few buc?
Personnally i would buy one here and spend the extra few quid for piece of mind because if something goes wrong at least you have some comeback.I bought mine in waterford from a company called sir daniels and i was given 1 year warranty, new clutch and the person i dealth with was very helpful.
Also from your previous post i question if it is really a GT model because the hardtop looks like it has been sprayed
There is plenty of nice s2000s for sale in carzone.ie.

I think i'd be nervous about looking at buying a car without knowing much about cars.

Having bought one or 2 bad ones in my early years, there is nowt much worse than finding you have bought a pile of shit.

I'd not rush. Get a list of ones to look at and arrange for someone from here to help you look.

Trust me, you don't want to buy a bad S2000.

If you wouldn't be able to spot a paint job or bad paint matches then i;d hang fire.

If I was off work i'd happily help.

Quite simply don't rush into buying one, have a good look around, a take a few weeks to get to know what is a bad S and what is a good S. I spent over a month looking until I found mine and we (my dad & I) used mine as a bench mark when buying his.
