PORSCHE drivers are the motorists most likely to prang their new car on the first day they get it. Dealers expect more of the same as Brits rush to buy a car with the new 05 licence plate today. Research for insurance firm Churchill showed that 600 new cars crash on the first day of sale. Darren McCauley, of Churchill, said: "Luxury sports cars, particularly Porsches, top the list for being most likely to crash."

So much for traction control...
