Default Soft Top

I've posted on my Fox problem before but its now getting me down as this particular animal likes to sit on my closed soft top at night to get a birds eye view of his territory.

Clay on its paws is the problem. It has badly stained the soft top. I've washed and washed it but it will not come out. One of my friends has recommended Cilit Bang Limescale Remover but I'm reluctant to use it as he has not!

Can anyone recommend a cleaning agent that I can have confidence in before I actually apply it?

No more comments on shooting the Fox please - I've heard them all.

I'd be tempted to try some fairy liquid with a stubborn upholstery/carpet brush. But once cleaned make sure you get some protectant on the soft top and any wash and wax any paintwork the fairy liquid comes in contact with.

Prevention may be better than cure. Can your put a cover on your car, or a soft top only cover? I'd be more worried about scratches in my paintwork that stains in the soft top I think.

Good luck in any case

Will a pressure washer not remove it?

(Assuming you have an OEM roof) when I do mine I just use a degreaser (bilt hamber or Gtechniq) mixed with water to about 20:1 and a scrubbing brush.
Wet the roof first, scrub in well, then rinse with a low power pressure wash.
Once cleaned and dried I bag the car with painters plastic sheeting and protect with Gtechniq I1
