Default soft top doesnt lock in posistion correctly or sit flush?

I have noticed the left hand side (passenger) of my soft top doesn't want to sit flush meaning I get a horrible wind noise at about 40MPH. does anyone know any fixes for this? I have tried a gentle *thump* but no luck. Wondering if its something to do with the mechanism. The left latch is alot easier to close than the drivers side. any input would be great....

Cheers

How old is your S? The catches can wear down as they are made of softish metal and can also be replaced under warranty..

The left side of mine needs to be pulled downwards slightly in order for it to mate correctly. Otherwise it misses sometimes. It's probably too difficult to adjust properly.

Yours sounds like the latch has backed off. You could release the screws and move it back a tad.

The X-1/9s used to do that, which meant the roof might blow off over 100

Try "packing" out the hook a bit using a piece of hard plastic tube. Try 1/16 inch wall or if that's not enough something a bit thicker. No charge for the tip!

Recently, I have started to go through the following process every time I close my roof...

Push the close button forward.
Keep it pushed forward & close the right latch with my right hand. (Stiff to close)
Let go of the button and close the left latch with my left hand. (very stiff to close)
Un-latch and re-close the RIGHT latch (much easier to close)
Un-latch and re-close the LEFT latch (much easier to close)

It just feels better after an unlatch/relatch process.

This may be nothing to do with your problem but I thought I'd suggest it.

...
Also... Could this be connected to your rattle?

My fella's S2K does the same thing but on the drivers side... he reckons its meant to sound like that at 30mph but it seems that as that sides catch rattles and the noise comes from there that he has the same probem?

If anyone figures out what to do lemme know so i can tell mooms!

cheers
