Default Solving the leaking roof

Hi guys,
As most of you are aware, the roof somtimes leaks in from the 'A' pillar and various other places whilst sat in the car mainly when the car has been stationary, this more apparent now due to the winter weather setting in.

I have been spending time pouring jugs of water on the the roof! to see if i can narrow the problems done. I also have some good waterproofer - however i think this maybe a con, and its not actually water seeping through clinging to the roof, it actually moisture clingin to the roof, but i will see.

I have found one point which is a leaking source, but i wish push the seal forward to mate up with the other, any ideas what type of glue or something i could use?

Will keep you posting

cheers

Adam

The roof itself won't leak - it's a sheet of PVC.

It's your seals that will have shrunk back, or even the roof itself, if not re-plenished with volatile organic compounds. Roof shrinkage was particularly acute on the side windows of the MX-5's. A bit like gum disease, it exposes the tops of the seals & water gets in. But I've not found that yet on the S2000. But roof cleaner & protectant (Raggtopp) will help.

1/2 retract the roof & give every rubber seal 2-3 coats of Holts rubber & silicone spray lubricant all over, so that they re-swell and are grit-free. You might have to wiggle them a bit. If you can leave the roof down for some hours so they gain the original shape, it helps.

That usually fixes it for me.

Are you sure you don't have moisture coming into the car from somewhere else and then when you park it for the night, condensation builds up.

Check the passenger footwell - there is an ac pipe that can get kicked which can leak fluid. HTH
