Yeah to be honest it was a shit job. The coilover installation was fine, The crap part was angle grinding the seized adjustors. Laying down on a bit of card board fitting it all doesn't help either.

I did mine now because a) I was bored and b) I couldn't wait

I am going to get the car set up locally in the next couple days

Looks great JD.

I like it, wheels fit the archs nicely now. Going to low looks abit gay to me and not what the car is about and thats giving it a good thrash without worrying about your archs cutting up your tyres.

Re the handling, you wont notice any real difference unless your pushing the car to its limits. Unless you go to the track i doubt you will experience the handling on the limit. Best to get thing checked over because it maybe when your trying to make an emergency maneuver you find out.

The only thing I have trouble with is contantly grinding the plastic air dams in front of the wheels.
No big deal, they flex, but its just not a great sound
They scrape even with a stock setup (if you try hard enough)

To be honest I may raise the height slighty if it rubs under hard cornering. I haven't had chance to drive the car properly yet, but I'll see how it goes.
I had my H&Rs fully wound down with 48 offset wheels runhning correct rubber widths.

I had absolutely ZERO rubbing from wheels.

I did manage to beach the car at most speedbumps though, mainly because of the exhaust!

Getting that sorted soon!

I looked at your installation thread and my H&R's have different coloured springs. I don't know if the springs are different? or just a different colour.

Mine looks lower than the pics you put up of yours? The back is really low, I will post some more pic's shortly so you can see.

I will post the model number of the springs aswell.

Piston broke , your gonna need front rack spacers at -25mm , and a full geo, otherwise thats gonna handle poo with plenty of bump steer and uneven worn tyres. I If you say, it handles the same, your either lieing or you dont drive the S properley
I had a full geo done with bolt grease, fella said they had been done before, so none of them were seized.

I'm really not being funny with this, but I'm trained to drive fast as part of my work. I used to drive cars hard all day so know how to handle a car. The car doesn't handle the same as when it was stock, it handles better. Though I suspect this has more to do with the geo rather than its new springs. It doesn't suffer with bump steer, and heavy braking feels much more stable. There are plenty of lowering spring haters on here, many of which have just been convinced by others that springs alone are shite and not worth it. I assume many of these followers are duped by hype and talk of race car handling, when they themselves can't drive for shit.

Sure, a few of you track day nuts will be excellent drivers having gained plenty of experience over time, although a lot of folks who spend thousands on lowering their car on expensive coilover kits, won't know the first thing about how to control a car at high speed. No amount of expensive suspension is going to help them be a more competent driver, and if anything, will lead them into as false sense of security at that critical moment that leads to them being upside down in a field.
