first time in ages that I've driven the S2k in commuter traffic as I normally miss it...............why oh why does Honda spend what must have been millions of Yen on developing the engine with all the fancy sh1t that allows it to develop so much power for such a small capacity, revs to the stratosphere.................

and forget the fricking basics....I am referring to the intake drawing in warm air from the engine bay.....surely they could have fashioned the airbox to incorporate a spoon style snorkel

I was kangerooing really badly this morning and having to rev the nuts of the car to move off..........this is a seriously irritating element to using the S2000 as a daily driver

 

You might want to consider an intake that draws air from lower down then, Paul - an AusS2000 "Spoon-a-like", if you can find one for sale second hand, or even a Spoon one, if you're feeling a bit more flush. The Injen intake would probably solve the problem too.

I have to say, I have only really ever had this problem during the summer, when the weather is hot. The PRM makes a lovely noise but does make the engine more susceptible to bogging down when the ambient air temperature is warm and you have to sit in traffic.

 

Only had this happen - mildly - a couple of times in two years. Is this an '01 v. '02 thing?

 

dunno what it is but this morning I nearly ended up stalling...I really don't see why Honda saw fit to place the intake where it did....this must be even more of a problem in warmer climates

all in all.....I aint impressed

 

Quite agree - very annoying Zero, get it quite a bit round here as always loads of traffic. Also quite embarrasing . Think a new intake for us is quite high priority

 

I may have to get a Spoon.......thing is it's unusual for me to ever drive the S in traffic so in over a year of driving this has only really manifested itself now......so wondering if it's worth bothering

 

Go on Paul get yourself a Spoon duct you know you want to.

It sorted out the "bogging" in traffic for me

 

Yep, I had the Spoon type on the S, (one of Aus's) and it cured the kangarooing problem. It also had the effect of vastly improving throttle response in normal driving. Highly recommended.
