Default Spark plugs

Hi guys time for my 55k service and nees spark plugs. Honda has quoted 76 quid plus vat for the platinum plugs. Is this the normal price for these plugs or can you recomend where to buy these from for a good price? Or is this a good price? Any links would be good if anyone knows where to get these from for a better price than that?

The platinum ones are expensive and don't last very long.

Go with the NGK Iridium IX - BKR7EIX. Set of 4 can be had for about £25.

If you are running a tuned ECU, go a stage colder (BKR8EIX)

I used them in my old S, used them in motorbikes, use them in my Cossie engine. Great plug great price

^ I thought there was an issue with the iridium tips disintegrating under certain circumstances?

Perhaps it was a very minor thing that had been blown out of proportion?

I believe NGK Iridium (not the Denso Iridiums) is what is recommended for the S.

Ah right ok how many miles you reckon get out of these iridium plugs? They that much better than the platinum? Why don't Honda use them then? Could slap an even bigger price on them couldn't they? Lol

This is an interesting thread, for my other cars the iridium ones have always been pricier than platinum for not much extra except a longer service life - longer than the service interval they'd be replaced in anyway.

Yeah Honda shaft people for the plugs, NGK PFR7G11S i think they are or something like that, any place like motorserv or euro car parts can get you the exact same plugs for half the price.
