Default Special Luggage

We do quite a bit of touring and I am not happy with the luggage we use. I have looked to find suitable replacements and I am speaking to Hillsalive who make luggage for other sports cars, (check them out on the internet), about making some for the S2000. He says he needs a car to take measurements from which isn't a problem as he is not to far away from me. I am also asking him to make a case to fit in place of the space saver. Is there any more interest depending on price of course?

There would be interest here. Our Samsonite bag is starting to show wear but it fits so tidy in the space you get when you remove the tool holder.

Mrs Santenay always wants to take enough to fit in a Transit van, because she is smaller than me she can take more, (I can't quite understand the logic on this). I normally find hat my clothes have not been pack but more of hers have.

Me and the mrs are looking to take the S abroad next year, plus alot of other trips (first convertible!)
So would definately be interested..

Do you drive without the space saver wheel then!? .. even whilst touring? > i'd need to take 5 bottles of tyre foam with me everywhere plus an air pump if that was me (for peace of mind).. in which case im prob better off sticking with the heavier wheel

Hi StormLoaded,
Where are you going to put the punctured wheel when you fit the space saver? People on here will correct me if I am mistaken but I understand the space saver is only supposed to be used on the front, if you have a rear puncture you fit the space saver on the front and then fit the front in place of the rear.
I toured for years on a motorcycle without a spare and I have driven for years (and I mean years) and I have had two punctures. Be brave and of course join a breakdown service. I have purchased a Honda compressor and tyre and tyre foam from a Civic for £25-00 as a back up though, and I can get more wine to bring home.
Normally we go to Europe 2/3 times a year in the S and we have just come back from a month in France so the existing luggage is wearing out. I have been looking for ages for suitable replacements without success until I stumbled on this guy who makes luggage for classic sports cars and some modern ones. He seems keen to make some suitable for the S2000 if he can get the measurements I thought the more interest the keener he will be to manufacturer some. He lives near J9 M42, I can only get every other weekend so if there is anyone in the Tamworth area, get in touch so a visit can be arranged.

I will keep you informed on cost, it depends on cost with me also. I am trying to arrange the luggage so the guy is interested in making some as I have been unable to find any I like or suitable. What he charges will be what people pay, no more. With a bulk order it could be cheaper.

An update on where I am with the luggage. The first person I spoke to wanted £260-00 + vat for two cases, I have since spoken to roadsterbags.eu who do a set for the MG, (see them on his web site), and the price looks a lot more reasonable. Although it states he does them for the S2000, he doesn't. I intend to take my car to him so he can measure the boot and design the bags to fit. I thought a bag to fit in the boot well, a bag for each end of the boot small enough not to prevent the boot from closing and either 1 large or two small bags in the middle. What other opinions of other people who are interested? Is a bag wanted to fit in place of the space saver? Do I leave the space saver boot cover on or off? If you see his web site he can do various colours, piping and personalised embroidery. Please let me know what is wanted as I will be going to see him within the next 10 days.
