Default A speeding car verses a circular saw

To be honest, I never really wondered about this conundrum until this morning.

I was waiting to pull out onto the A420 from home, a busy and often too fast road. It was very foggy, so foggy that even I had needed to use my fog lights .

As I was about to pull out of the junction onto the road I noticed a large object in the road in front of me. It was an industrial circular saw. I popped my hazards on, much to the annoyance of the people behind me, and got out of the car to go haul it off the road.

I noticed a car come flying up the road, I signalled for him to slow down as best I could, which he didn't. He instead ploughed into the said object at about 60mph.

We had sparks, very loud noises, bits of car falling off and the car quickly exiting the road. We managed to get the circular saw out from under his car. The saw was remarkably intact, suffering only the loss of a few bits of plastic, the guys car was knackered. The rear bumper cracked, exhaust hanging off etc.

Quite an exciting start to the morning really, well for me, not necessarily him.

I was the only one that stopped to help him. Everyone else just had a good look at what happened as they slowly drove past.

That's what he gets for not slowing down. I bet he felt like a right muppet afterwards.

I bet he's going round in circles trying to figure out what went wrong

Did he not see you trying to slow him down or did he just ignore you? If the latter, serves him right.

He was speeding.

The impact must have really grated, he was lucky he didn't get sent spinning.
