Speedo Accuracy
My car has been repaired (Excellent job and a fine example of customer service) so on went the PRM and re-connected the Morpheous Micro Road Pilot.
Gave it a good road test today
at normal cruising altitude and beyond
(God, how quickly you forget how fantastic the PRM roar is
).
I was always told that speedo's in general are about 10% out at higher speeds. Well this is not the case in my car. At well into 3 figures the GPS based road pilot was showing exactly the same reading as the speedo.
The speedo is quicker to update as you slow down, but I guess the GPS confirmation time take a bit longer on the Road Pilot.
Worth knowing though I thought.

I finally got my TomTom GPS working, and it has been showing a speed about 4-6 mph slower than my speedo - so if the GPS is more accurate, I am less likely to be Gatso'd I hope.
(mind you, I haven't been doing any "kmh" speeds in mine as per above

At 235-kph on the speedo, the Road Angel was saying 224-kph - and yes, that was a a derestricted autobahn near Oldenburg.
Mind you, last week the RA was indicating 63mph whilst I was stationary in a jam on the M25 Car Park. Also more confusing was the fact that the RA was telling TomTom that I was driving across the surface of a big reservoir (Queen Elizabeth?) near Staines.
Fortunately, I didn't get my feet wet!
