Default Spoon / Mugen / Js / Other?!

Evening!

After some long, hard thought im almost certainly going to take the s2000 in a different direction. Having secured a drive for the season in the nippon, the S2000 really doesnt need to be 'track prepped'.

I have an AEM series 2 that I was going to use on the car however this seems a little overkill now the car is used more as a daily than a track car!

Has anyone had experience with the above ecus? I still want to retain the intake and most of the exhaust breathing so would like to get an ecu of some sort.

Are they all pretty much the same? some better than others? Does the Js touge car use the js ecu (obviously tweaked) for example?!

If your getting the associated mods for the ECU then go for it (e.g J's manifold with J's ECU), if not don't bother as you wont extract the maxiumum benefits. Custom mapped is the key here for 'YOUR' car. Saying this you may be lucky and get a spot on AFR wit a J's ECU and your mods but doubt it.

It was 2007 in the past, so not wanting to start an argument and I've learned things from the past but Marks post is factually incorrect back then as far as the greddy goes, and learning (in WOT) etc.

It's also old info, so probably no good

You are relly looking as J's, Spoon and Mugen. All much of a muchness. Obviously i'm biased to the J's but I just know their stuff works very well. IIRC the Mugen is more aimed at mid range, which may be better on a road car.

J's own car is so heavily modified it runs a custom mapped ECU.

J's is the daddy IMO when it comes to tuning the S and extracting more power from an already highly strung/tuned car.

I wish i knew the stuff i know now as it would have saved me thousands, but all good fun and nature of the beast .
