Default Spoon style air intake...

Seen a Spoon style carbon intake that fits directly into the standard airbox. Got a few questions so hopefully someone will have the answers..!

What sort of power gains if any can be expected?
Is there any increase in noise? (i have the airbox cover off at present!)

Not really

debatable. I suspect the snorkel works slightly better, but neither are going to blow your socks off!

I've got one waiting to be fitted in conjunction with my K&N Gen II....although am not sure I am 100% happy about cutting the bonnet......

You don't cut the bonnet for the snorkel and I wasn't aware that you needed to in order to fit the K&N either?

When I tried to fit a Muz snokrel to mine the bonnet wouldn't shut, so I thought you did need to cut the underside of the bonnet to fit them.

No, just a question of adjusting the bonnet catch Jamie. I used to have a similar snorkel.

The K&N is fitted - no cutting at all.

I was under the impression the bonnet needed cutting for a snorkel........sounds like this might not be the case......

Only for the CAIs which supply a bigger gulp of air - Mugen, J's Racing etc
