Default Springs Spoon Vs Eibach Vs Tein

Thinking of lowering the car and don't want to go down the route of Coilovers.

I used to have Spoon progressive's on my EP3 and thought they were very good but dont seem very popular on the S2

I've done numerous searches but just confused myself so I was hoping for some personal experiences on who like's their the most.

Basically looking for comfort, style and quality.
I dont want to be bouncing up the road or having major issues with tyre wear.

Cheers in advance

As above eibachs and swift get good reviews.

Garage R can get BC coilovers from not far off the £500 mark, worth it IMO.

You don't get much comfort on Teins, otherwise a very good spring IMO,

Save up and get coilovers, you wont regret it. Remember If you decide to gets springs which lower below 20mm, you will need steering rack spacers and adjustable toe arms or you'll suffer from bump steer, and will struggle to get your geo range.

Dont say I didn't warn you.

Is that actually true though?

I had Eibachs on mine, and the geo done, with no issues. The car drove great, and I don't hang around.

RE half shaft spacers - i've yet to hear of a failure becuase of a car being lowered without them.

I don't disagree that coilovers are a better idea, but depends what you are doing with the car. If you just want it to look a bit better and lower the ride, springs are ok IMO.

Maybe an issue on older cars with more miles as the spline buckets may already be worn.
But simply lowering will not make any difference to wear rate.
What wears the buckets is suspension travel, regardless of the height.
Half shafts are on CV joints so the length wont be altering with revolutions at any angle

Tend to agree Steve.

Craig, I guess yours and PJL's were tracked pretty hard?
