Spun again!
Guy's this is getting out of hand, I've done 19K in my car since new (last November) drove it all through the winter, no problems.
Honda changed the suspension settings last week and now i have just spun it for the second time in a week..........whats going on?
So i've set up a poll..........well i might have if this works.
Of all the people that have spun or lost the back end, were you on the original settings or the Honda UK new settings and was it dry or wet?
I think the new settings are dangerous, this morning i fought the skid for about 100 yards, having a big tank slapper, before it finally got away. Luckely by the time it spun i was only doing about 15MPH on an empty country road so no damage.
I would be interested in the outcome of this one.
Mines back in on Thursday to have the original settings put back, hope i last that long, come to think of it i will use the Landrover till then!

Never spun
when not actually trying to get the back out.
But then, it would only go with Original Suspension (my01) and Wet 'n' Greasy. Didn't put that in your poll as it would be a statistical anomally... probably

When speaking to one of the Honda techs the other day, he said that on the original car (MY99-01) the suspension was setup for European roads i.e. the long German Autobahns, and that the alignment was 17 degrees out from the now "fixed" settings suitable for U.K. roads.
Check your tyre pressures just in case you have a slow puncture.....you never know!

Just to clarify gents mine is a NOV 2002 car, and it has just been set (2 weeks ago) to the new Honda UK settings, of 2Deg negative on the rear and 1Deg Negative on the front.
This is not what my car had from the factory (print out from the dealers).
Not sure how my factory settings differ from the 99-01 model, but the UK settings must be another set of settings from the 99-01 and 01 onwards settings.
As for driving like a prat option, i wouldn't mind if a was, both spins were at less than 40 MPH and in 3rd gear..................maybe it's a problem with 3rd?
cheers

Looks like UK 'preferred' settings are what you have. Not sure what mine are, will ask when it's serviced in a month or so.
EDIT: Note that it says MY00 and 01 only... maybe MY02 cars have a different set?? someone else on here will know for sure

Gaza, the setting's on a Nov 2002 car should be the same as the Honda UK settings. I've got a Dec 2002, and that's what they were originally.
There's a distinct possibility that your dealer has just screwed up the geometry.
Double check they've got a laser alignment rig. If they haven't tell them to get it into a specialist.
I'd be really interested to know what the original settings were.
GSi - the scanned sheet was a notification to the dealers to get them to change the MY00/01 cars to the new settings. the MY02/03 should be already setup this way.

Any alignment should be done on NEW TYRES!! Have you got new tyres? If you realign worn tyres the car is going to behave very differently as you are introducing a new contact patch to the road. When I had a new diff on my old 00 they did the alignment on old tyres and the car was dangerous, so I put new tyres on and had the alignment done and all was fine. My 03 is about ready for new tyres and I had the revised settings put on from new and will do the same when the tyres are changed. I dont think people realise just how much difference the car is when the geometry is slightly out.
