Default steering probs!

my car started to pull to the side so I took it to get the tracking looked at, needed 2 front tyres as they had worn down on the inside, had these replaced and re tracked but now the steering still doesnt feel right and it feels quite heavy on the steering wheel. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this or knows what it could be? booked in with a mechanic but thats 2 weeks away.

Did you have a different brand of tyres fitted.? If so sometimes the "give" in the sidewalls can make the steering feel strange for a while.

If it's not the tyres it'll be your "tracking". Get it done properly.

You should get all corners aligned.
A rear toe (tracking) issue will cause a car to pull to one side too.

A common cause of tugging to one side on this car is a sticky brake caliper.
After the next short drive, feel each wheel to see if one is a lot hotter than the others.
Thats the errant brake.

Could be lots of things, but thats the obvious two IMO.
And as above, heavy means its probably not set correctly and has too much toe-in at the front.
That will knacker tyres in short order just like the last set btw.

KDS is the BMW fancy term for an alignment done on a Hunter machine. It adds roughly £300 to the price

http://www.hunter-d.de/us/product/OEM/prod...5/5864TE-05.pdf

go to www.alignmycar.co.uk which'll find somewhere near you with a Hunter Machine.
