Default Steering wheel airbag

I really like the look of the Alcantara wheel below - but would worry about losing my airbag.

Am I worrying in vain ?

PJL's lost his. But that was kind of necessary as he needs a removable steering wheel to be able to get in to his bucket seats.

He's got harnesses though hasn't he? If you've got the harness on tight the airbag isn't going to do a lot.

If you don't crash, you'll never miss the airbag.

If you do crash, and the air bag would have saved your life, well then you won't miss it either as you'll be dead.

So no point to it really.

Just look at it this way. If your head does get impaled on that steering wheel, you'll have an H logo on your forehead for the rest of your life

What are the rules on removing a steering wheel with an airbag? I thought you had to leave it in place to pass the MoT

I had a feeling I was going to get answers like this !!

I'm not too keen on killing myself just yet......I just fancied an alcantara steering wheel

I think I'll have a word with the trimmer bloke instead

How many cars have you crashed where the airbag has gone off?

None yet...all my best crashes involved cars without them fitted.

I'm Irish see...we come with a built in..."To be sure...to be sure" feature.....

There you go then. You obviously don't need one. You've crashed multiple times without air bags and you're still alive.

I'd probably only remove it if I had 4/5 point harnesses.
