My brother had afew bad experiences with them. When i phoned up honda they told me they had their own elctrical technician...not that i believed them....

 

Whilst I am in no doubt that the OEM wires can handle the current, I am very much an advocate of using the right equipment for the job. I got the cables with my amp and saw no reason why I should not use them. Fortunately the missus was more adept at running the cables through to the doors than I was

Thicker cables also allow for expansion of the system should I deem necessary

I'd avoid Honda like the plague personally and take it to audio specialists if you're going down that route. I'd pay for someone to fit the amp, as they'll do a tidy job, set it up properly and do the cabling properly which means you're unlikely to run into proplems in the future, like alternator whine, grounding issues etc. Paying Honda to do it all will be very expensive.

Doors are a piece of cake - especially if you buy the adapters - just a case of unscrewing the old ones and screwing in the news. I'm no audio specialist, but this is as easy as it comes.

Head unit is easy too. In fact, probably the easiest car i've ever fitted. Civic EP3 was the worst.

 

I am sure that someone will give you a helping hand if you are close enough.

 

Im not sure my door has come off before. Does it just pull away? ive managed to get the bottom loose but the top is giving me hell.

 

Have you removed the screws in the handle?

The Door very slightly lifts up? there is also another popper right near the top front of the door.

The poppers run up the side aswell and can be a bit stiff.

 

Oh sorry, i meant the stereo door. I just want to see if this player is atleast working.

 

Pedro, heat the stereo door enclosure up with a hairdryer. It will make the clips more flexible. It does take a hard pull to remove the door unit though.

 

Having just changed my HU, my best piece of advice is once you have the bottom loose, use a flat screwdriver with some cloth around it to prevent scratching/damage and use it as a lever in the top parts of the trim, mine came out a treat after that.

 

Have you got the updated dash? My04 upwards i think?

If so, would i need to remove the center dash?
