Evening all

I've been out of the audio loop for quite a bit of time now, and I'm looking for a new H/U to upgrade from my previous pioneer.

I'd like:-

-CD ( CD-R CD-RW compatible )
-3 Preouts
-Some form of multimedia interface? USB?
-fully adjustable EQ with HPF, LPF and that sort.

I want to stick to Pioneer, they've never done me wrong, I like their displays etc and they've always been very good to adjust.

Currently eyeballing the DEH-80PRS headunit, fit's the bill really.

If anyone knows any pioneers similar to this, somewhere around £150-£200, let me know

Regards

Tom

i have just ordered a Pioneer DEH-8400BT. it has 2 usb ports at the rear so you can run your ipod and have the flap shut. also has 3 pre outs and an sd card slot which is a format i use all the time. £145 from car audio centre though mine cost £123 from Amazon.

In case you're interested, Halfords are offering the DEH-4400BT online for £99 saving £180.

Just bought one myself. Looks a great bit of kit. Reviews are good. There is an Irish guy on YouTube who runs through some of the features (poorly! ). Type in the code. I'm fitting it Saturday. I'll let you know my thoughts.

Seemed a good deal so just went and got one too. Will try to fit tomorrow, so will probably be on here later with some 'I've trashed my dash' comments

Guys,

the DEH-4400BT only has a front usb port. it is the DEH-8400BT that has 2 rear usb ports. this allows you to permanantly run your ipod and have the flap shut. Put my DEH-8400 in the other day. sounds a lot better than the old Pioneer i had in there. Also, the DEH-8400 allows you to change the colour on the display. the orange is a pretty good match.

If you do go for the DEH-4400 look on amazon. seen it for £86.

That head unit looks good value. From other threads I believe there's an issue connecting an iPhone as they don't usually charge at the same time. This one has Bluetooth so could the iPhone connect this way and plug in the standard charger so it doesn't drain or does the sound quality suffer?

None as of yet but awaiting a response from Stuart here

Will live without controls until I get a response.
I must admit, the 8400 sounds better having rear connections. That's spontaneous buying for you!
