Post Sticky front caliper..

Was dying to take the car out all day as I didn't get a chance over the weekend whilst it was sunny.. now this is the second time its been taken out in about 3 weeks (took it out for new tyres last week, did about 5-6 miles)...

To cut a long story short, I got to my destination and the car refused to roll forward at traffic lights on slight inclines and it was taking noticeably more revs to pull away from a standstill.. I pulled over at my destination and the OS front wheel was hot, very hot.. so I'm convinced its a dodgy caliper...

Anyway, took it home a couple hours later after it cooled and the car drove fine.. got home and the wheel was nice and cool.

It sounds as though it didn't like being sat for so long with no use and the caliper decided to throw a wobbly and is probably on its way out after 11 years of (ab)use.. however, what are my options?

I don't really want to spend a weekend re-furbing them, however where can I get new pistons and seals as it'll be the cheapest option? is there a refurb guide somewhere? Alternatively, how much are brand spanking new calipers?

Thanks in advance

Check out this guide.
It's a real fiddle to do in my experience and £90 seems reasonable
Do they come back shiny?

Cheers guys..

Rob, when you say EBC calipers, do you mean they are aftermarket calipers? or they come with EBC pads?

Sounds like the best option so far... let me give the car a check over on the weekend, I think one side had a new caliper from Honda before I bought it.. if not I'll probably get two off you + a rear as I think one of them could do with replacing.

Rob, just for future reference, do EBC refurb the rears? If so, how much?

Thanks,

Nick.

EBC refurb all the calipers for the S, its the only way to go, don't prolong the agony, just replace them!

If you have the money Id upgrade the Caliper to an after market one, the Honda calipers really are too poor for this climate.
