Default Sticky roof....

On occasions I have noticed my roof has not gone down all the way although it has stopped moving when holding the roof switch. Any body else had the same thing happen to them?

A couple of images as examples...

don't have that problem but i do have a hole in the roof as of tonight FFS
right above the drivers head rest in the very common place so i understand even with the duck tape as extra protection. off to the dealer on tuesday for them to have a look.

your problem could be one of the bars is not moving out of the way right it is pulled by some elastic and if it is weak what you have can happen.
you need to watch the roof go down half way then see how the bars look and how the fabric is folding.

This happens to me when I take her out every morning if temperature is below about 13 degrees celsius. I have put up with it until now, and raise the roof and re-lower which seems to do the trick.

Bob - also found a one inch line of wear above the driver's headrest. Only 3 months warranty left, so will be paying Honda a visit sharpish !

Usually this happens because the roof is cold and stiff or the elastic is shot, the latter unlikely on a car of your age (see 'Replacement roof elastic straps' in my sig)

Can you push it further down with the swtich activated?
If so you just need to lithium grease the hinges/mechanism
If not it may need adjusting

Two of my S's did this bit of grease sorted it!

It happens all the time with mine its the rear screen not sliding down flat and getting stuck at an angle which prevents the roof going down those last few centimetres (not a problem when its warm) I let the roof go back 3/4 of the way reach round over the wind deflector to apply gentle pressure to the top edge of the rear screen to move it down a cm or so and then continue lowering the roof and it goes all the way down, no problem.

A minor irritation in the grand scheme of things.

happens to mine sometimes - mainly when cold as the elastics are shot..
Just hold your hand on the bar at the back when you put the roof down and its job done
It 'slides' towards the centre bar - you'll see which one i mean.

haven't got around to fixing my elastic bands yet

While we're on the topic of roofs, is the movement of the roof completely silent and smooth on yours?

On mine it seems like there is a slight 'jump' (just the noise) when I am opening the roof and it starts moving going down (as in, 1st half is it going upwards and then 2nd half is it retracting down into its folded position).
